Yoga Teacher Training in Koh Samui

Thailand is home to a variety of islands, visited by travellers every year. Each has its own character, reuniting travellers in search for peace and adventure. Since, Thailand is popular for its temples and Buddhist practises, it is clear that the Hindu spiritual discipline Yoga paved its way.

It was only by the 1980s that yoga grew to become a popular technique for physical exercise keeping in mind the significance of achieving absolute liberation of the mind, body and soul.

Yoga in Thailand has established itself like wild fire. The brilliant ambiance offers the most distinctive buffet of yoga destinations. Islands lined by virgin beaches, marine life and glorious views prove to fit the criteria for detoxifying oneself.  Various agendas including workshops, outings and classes allow every individual to relax and rejuvenate themselves; a truly enlightening experience to say the least.

Many have absorbed this discipline and have made it part of their lifestyle, inspiring others along the way and giving rise to the new age of yoga trainers. Yog Nisarga is one of India's top notch yoga training schools, taking up courses, trainings, retreats and classes to suit the individuals needs and requirements. All of which are incorporated into a four week training course, blooming the student into a fully fledged yoga professional. Committed to building a pool of educated trainers dedicated to the development and learning of the student. The school's vibrant environment instils a friendly and positive energy, enriching each student's experience as they transcend onto this journey.

Yog Nisarga is affiliated with Yoga Alliance USA/CANADA, the globally recognised body that accredits yoga schools universally. Now located in Koh Samui at the Health Oasis Resort, the course is based on the sequence of Ashtanga Yoga in India includes the Primary Series along with various other styles. The course lets students engage and grasp the basic principles with consecutive implementation guidelines. From teaching the art of adjustment and modification techniques to practising training with the use of basic yoga props.

Ashtanga means '8-limbed' in sanskrit which can be further explained as the internal purification consisting of eight spiritual practices; yama ( communication and moderation), niyama (cleansing and purity), asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), pratyahara ( focus), dharana (concentration), dhyana (mind direction) and samadhi ( stillness of the mind). The Ashtanga yoga teacher training involves methods to help protect the mind from being contaminated with its internal cleansing system.

In the 200-hours residential Yoga course in India and Koh Samui, the student will be taught through an in-depth exploration of the philosophy, history and asanas of Yoga, as well as travel into one’s own self and heart. This is a religious journey that gives a sound foundational knowledge of Yoga, and helps students develop integrity, strength and confidence. Teachers are committed to creating a rich learning experience that will make the transition to teaching their own classes much easier and natural.

Yoga is a path for bringing together the body, mind and soul into harmony and for exploring one’s inner being. To accomplish this, each student will need an understanding of its many facets--philosophy, yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi. Ultimately, though, Yoga is about the journey towards self-realization.

Koh Samui is located off the south east coast of Thailand. Besides travelling by air, the mainland also provides trains linked with ferries that get you to the island. From the Samui airport , one can hire the airport taxi for a fare of approximately 700 - 800 Baht, subject to change. Or else the Health Oasis will provide transportation to and from the airport on request.
